Since Apple is planning its big event on September 12th, some news also came out that you could pre order your new iPhone 5 that same day! This is a great news, considering their previous schedule was to do the announcement and they people would usually wait a week or so before ordering the iPhones.
Also for the international markets the iPhone will be released on October.
